Melissa is an artist, traveller and lover of all things beautiful and riotous. Melissa’s work is bold and theatrical, reflecting her background in the performing arts and her continuing practice as a video and visual artist. Inspired by the contrasts in light and landscape of her Australian homeland and the romance and daring of the Italian city of Venice she so adores, Melissa uses a range of materials to imaginatively explore or translate feelings of place and identity. Whether a pair of statement earrings or an original painting, each piece uniquely and unapologetically expresses the freedom, flamboyance and cosmopolitanism that SISSY FLORENCE stands for.

THE COLLECTIONS

 The collections celebrate the freedom to flit from one glorious flower of creating to another.

 I have always had a passion for Art, Italy, history, antiques & vintage jewellry, furniture & fashion.

 I don’t own a lot of ‘worldly goods’, perhaps because I have moved around a lot, but what I do own is much cherished.

The handful of artworks, jewells and pieces of vintage furniture I live with, have brought me so much joy, comfort and a sense of ‘home’ wherever I am.

I hope the pieces in the Collections also bring you joy, comfort, daydreaming, connections, story, belonging and inspiration.

Is that too much to expect from a painting, a cushion or pair of earrings?..…I think not!
